Our Story: Why We Chose to Care Differently
I have placed my mother in what was considered one of the best senior living facilities near me since she was diagnosed with dementia . It is expensive, highly rated, and promised top-level care. Like so many families, we believed that paying more meant our loved one would be safer, happier, and properly cared for.
What we witnessed was heartbreaking.
Despite the cost, the attention simply wasn’t there. Needs were overlooked. Small things.. comfort, dignity, simple human connection were treated as unimportant. My mother, like so many residents, has needs that are neglected. And the hardest part was realizing how many families have no idea what truly happens behind closed doors.
Families trust these facilities with the people they love most. They assume their parents are being treated with patience, compassion, and respect. But too often, residents are treated like tasks instead of people.In some instances these facilities are very short staffed and patients do not get enough of the simple day to day needs that are required...
Seeing this firsthand changed everything for us.
We realized that seniors don’t just need a place to live they need care, attention, and human connection. They need someone who will listen, notice changes, and treat them like family, not a number.
That experience is why we believe in home care done the right way.
